Book Borrowing

We have a wide range of books for adults, children and teenagers and we are also now able to to request items from other libraries.

You can view our Online Catalogue in advance of your visit by clicking here. You can use the Filters on the left-hand side of the screen to look specifically for books at Taibach Community Library.

Digital Library

There’s a great range of digital resources available to all library members, from eBooks, eAudioBooks and eMagazines to Theory Test Pro and The National Library of Wales. You’ll need your library card and PIN to access these resources. Full details can be found by clicking here.


Charges for Photocopying are as follows:

  • A4 Black & White 15p per sheet
  • A4 Colour 70p per sheet
  • A3 Black & White 22p per sheet
  • A3 Colour £1 per sheet

You can pay for your photocopying via cash or card (if over £1).


You are able to print from our public access computers or directly from a USB memory stick.

Charges for Printing are as follows:

  • A3 Colour £1 per sheet

You can pay for your printing via cash or card (if over £1).

Stationery, laminating and binding

We now have a range of stationery and greetings cards for sale at the library.

As well as this we are now offering laminating and binding services to our customers.

Laminating prices start from 50p per sheet.

Document binding prices are available on request.

Public Access Computers

Customers can use our computers for a maximum of 3 hours per day. You can pre-book a library computer here or by calling 01639 883831.

Clothes Recycling drop-off

Along with our friends at Dragon Bags, we’re accepting donations of unwanted clothing at Taibach Community Library. There are some items we don’t accept, so please click here to check out the list.

You can drop clothes off to our external clothes bank 24/7, it is located in the rear car park.

Food recycling bags collection

We now have food recycling bags available to collect at the library. These can be picked up during opening hours. We’ve put a limit in place of 2 rolls per customer to give everyone the chance to collect some.

Ball Library

Fancy a kickabout but don’t have a ball to hand? No problem. Come and see us at Taibach Community Library during opening hours and you can borrow a football for free. The #BallLibrary is available thanks to support from the Morrisons Foundation.

You can borrow the ball for a maximum period of 7 days. We have balls available in sizes 3-5. Please make sure that the ball is returned to us after use, so someone else can use it.

To borrow a ball, you’ll need to be a library member so please bring along your library card. If you’re not a member and are aged under 16, please bring a parent/guardian along with you and we can sign you up!

We are one of 400 Ball Library hubs across the UK. You can find out more about the Alive and Kicking scheme here.

National Databank

In conjunction with the Good Things Foundation, we’re providing free SIM cards, pre-loaded with mobile data, talk minutes and texts from Vodafone, Three and O2/Virgin Media.

To receive data through the National Databank, you must be:
– 18+ years old
– From a low-income household

And qualify in at least one of the following statements:
– Has no access or insufficient access to the internet at home
– Has no or insufficient access to the internet away from home
– Cannot afford your existing monthly contract or top-up

Eligible people can pick up a free SIM card loaded with 20GB data, unlimited UK calls and texts every month for 6 months.
